INTRO LOG
" - So thank you for your participation in our program!" finishes the holographic projection's chipper voice. The androgynous figure of a Fortune employee in uniform bows. "The rest of the participants will be gathering in the central lounge shortly. Please enjoy your stay at Ioneil Station!"
And with that, you're left on your own as the hologram cuts out, nothing but a body suit and a number of informational pamphlets to your name. One of them includes your housing room number and the name of your roommate - and since evidently you can't stay here, you'd better go out and meet them.
The elevator you enter automatically takes you down to the lounge in question - a wide-open room with minimal decoration and plenty of posh, comfortable furniture. And there's a dozen or so other people coming - enough for things to be interesting, at least.
Your rooms are down a low hallway - space is cramped, so you'd better get used to close quarters... Unless you're ready for close quarters of an altogether different kind, after all.

Well, since time flowed so much slower here (not too strange, since he had been to Realms where time flowed differently already when gathering the children of Corrin's army) he supposed helping couldn't hurt. It'd be like a vacation, almost.
Still, there's a very pinched look on his face as he reads the pamphlets, crossing and uncrossing his legs... feeling a bit exposed in these strange garments. Is he upset? Or is that just his face? Who's to say? The skinsuit certainly shows off a lot, and as he tries to figure out how to get comfortable he ends up removing and reforming bits and pieces of it- nothing too scandalous, but depending on when one runs into him they might get a show of his arms or back as he plucks at the material, the nanolink confused on if he wants to be dressed or not.
"A simple shirt would be so much easier..."

"How are you getting it to change shape like that? I can't even find buttons or a zipper on mine."

So says the thin man who has never been ashamed to stare a day in his two thousand year life, though it somehow manages to give off only an aura of amusement instead of potentially creepy attraction. It's not that he's not interested, even, it's just that Xander is clearly the best show in town.

Eventually she decided that hiding in the elevator wasn't going to accomplish anything and padded out into the lounge proper. When she noticed she wasn't alone, she planted her hands on her hips in shared exasperation. "You know, if they wanted to whisk me away to a bizarre realm of sex and pleasure, they really could have just asked. If nothing else it would have been nice to have a chance to pack a wardrobe."

More disconcerting than that, though, was the fact that he had no memory of how he got here, no idea where the others were, and he... well he needed to get home.
So when the elevator opens on the lounge he does a quick, cursory glance, looking for anyone familiar. And then he drops onto the corner of a couch, leaning forward, elbows on his knees. At least this way no one is going to be looking too closely at his body. And of course he can sulk a little, though he does watch others come and go, curious and cautious, trying to garner what information he can from the context of others' conversations.
no subject
But he clearly has some awareness of his surroundings, and glances up at the ound of Noctis' impact with the couch - and then startles visibly, eyes going wide enough that, even in the relatively dim, moody lighting, it's clear that they're golden yellow instead of light brown.
"Now isn't that curious...?"
The comment is at least as much to himself as anyone.

Her bodysuit suits her remarkably well, and she doesn't seem to mind how... well, form-hugging it is. How much it shows her off. Like Yomi, she's obviously inhuman, her fox ears and tail marking her as something else. She stands at roughly 5'5, but she seems to be used to looking up at people, surprised when anyone is smaller.
"I- I don't mind this place, it seems rather nice, but... Do you think it would be possible for me to do my work from here?" She's asking whoever is nearby in an anxious voice.

After a few minutes of this, she realized that she wasn't alone anymore. The presence of other people did wonders for her mood. It bumped her up from "nearly catatonic" to "vaguely grumpy."
Akane sighed and sat up a bit, though she kept her knees up out of a sense of modesty. She was skinny and fit and wasn't wild about this body suit and how little it left to the imagination. "Well. I guess this is happening. Who are you all? Maybe we can be friends or something."

In a way she was, though she hadn't yet realized it. Cut off from the comforting wash of gentle whispers that had been the background noise of her entire life before she rejoined the Lifestream, she felt as if she were watching her own body move as if someone else were directing a doll. Her head reeled, fingertips toying with her hair and gliding over furniture with a distracted air, trying to find an anchor for herself.
She probably should find whoever her new "roommate" was, but the unnatural suit she wore and the station itself was leaving her on edge with memories too close to the surface. The urge to flee, to hide, to fight her captors was clawing up her throat but she bit it back, hooding her gaze as a soft smile curled the corners of her lips. No, she might be captured but there was no sign these people were like ShinRa.
So for now, she would play their little game until she found out how to twist the rules. After all, Aerith could not leave Gaia for long, she was the last guardian of the Lifestream, and as long as Sephiroth and Jenova were a risk, she had to find a way home.
one roommate coming up
No point in not playing nice yet, and so here he is, playing nice, offering a bit of comfort to one of the young women who seems so offput and out-of-place here. Not that anyone seemed to not be out of place, and how rude of their hosts to not offer some kind of living, breathing scapegoat instead of the holographic version of a phone menu tree.
But for right now, the docile but slightly eccentric older man is a role he can play well enough, one that clings to him like the second skins that passing for clothing here as he offers the young woman an expression that's mostly a smile.

It's incredible that it's not even the worst introduction to a jamjar he's been in- hell, it’s far better than Nyoi-Cho. The young man perches easily on one of the couches, his limbs arranged like a Greek statue’s into some sort of delicate reclining. (He’s seen Ardyn, he knows he’ll be outcompeted on sprawling. No point.) Blonde, with eyes like the sky in summer, he’s all-around beautiful; but then again everyone here is. The fact is that station’s amassed a fair variety of playthings, all sweet and pretty like Akielos’ handpicked best. There’s even a furry. And that sprawling one, presumably there for people who want a challenge.
Laurent bets the dark-haired sulker cries in bed. He wonders if he should hand out knives.
He’ll need to find knives, first. If the lack of modest clothing is bothering him, he doesn’t show it; he merely relaxes in place and reads the pamphlets, seemingly at peace. Unlike the others, he has with him one piece of.... it’s not clothing, it’s just a pale blue gem set in a heavy gold bangle. It rests on his left wrist, and his bodysuit seems confused as to whether to go over or under it.
Oh, also he makes stone cold eye contact if you stare too long. No words. Just ( ಠ____ಠ).
no subject
Laurent's ability to sense the considering look he's getting over a Crimson Star pamphlet only makes him more interesting, in Ardyn's book. Perhaps there will be someone interesting around here other than the freshfaced Chosen King.
And so when that returned stare lands, Ardyn just smiles. "Interesting bauble you've brought along."

Well, far be it from her to just stand back and worry about how weird everything was. Though she didn't have much she could do for now, besides just talk about it, because... well. The reason for that became clear when she walked up to someone, holding up the Tiger's Strike pamphlet opened to a page about smartphones. "Hey. Do you understand any of this stuff?"
no subject
"The machines here are a lot different from the ones back home, that's for certain. Hmm..." With a thoughtful hum, she looks everything over, then glances back to the other young woman. "What part were you having trouble with? I'll do my best to explain."

So, no, this is no fever dream which means he really is stuck in this body suit which is somehow even more embarrassing than those outfits they had to wear during the Assassin's Festival were. Ignis is in good shape, if a little lighter than he should be for 6ft. Most people came out of the Darkness lighter even if it wasn't as bad as he has a suspicion it could have been. Still, that doesn't mean he wants every angle and curve on display.
Oh, but Gladio would love this, wouldn't he?
The thought brings a small smile to his lips, but the smile is there and gone in an instant, replaced by a much more serious expression.
"Has anyone begun thinking about how we can get back home?"
After all, he has a newly enthroned king to get back to.
no subject
"I have, but I haven't made any progress. We're going to have to talk to a person instead of a construct, but we can't find anyone. If anyone had magic that could do big teleports like this, it would be one thing, but we don't even know where this is in relation to our own homes. Our best bet will be the same method that brought us here."
... Despite her outfit, she seems to be used to giving reports like this.

Still, he had to admit these strange humans had done something for him- while he looked like his Other, this body was not Robin's. It wasn't his original form either, but it was something. So, for now, he wouldn't kill them- for now.
Even so, he can't resist the crawling disgust when he walks into the lobby, seeing the humans and human-like creatures there. He makes his way to the side, more interested in his new flesh than the creatures he was supposed to find pleasure with. Anyone curious enough to look over might see him lazily changing bits of his body- making claws appear and disappear, ripping through his suit and chuckling when the strange fabric repaired itself over them. Once he's bored with that he moves to forming a massive reptilian tail, the suit moving to cover that as well. Fascinating...

The man who has pulled himself up from his seat to give Grima a closer inspection is tall and remarkably thin, though the bodysuit does nothing to hide the muscles underneath. His expression is mostly curious, and the aura he's intentionally projecting is as much 'harmless eccentric' as possible.
But underneath, well... The amount of roiling black malevolence, upon which the man has kept a tight lid, is likely to be impressive even to Grima.

Normally he wouldn't dream of wearing his play collar out in public but after the information he'd gotten it hardly seemed worth trying to hide it. Not that it mattered because he didn't have the key to unlock it even if he did want to take it off. The person with the key was precisely who he was looking for the moment he got downstairs, shoving one hand through his hair, a little nervous around so many new faces, especially when he wasn't sure where his Sir was.
It was a ridiculous way to get out of jail but he'd take it. Only after he's located his Sir and his brother does he relax enough to start mingling, happily draping himself over all nearby furniture with a smile, careful not to touch anyone without express permission. "At least the view's pretty awesome, yeah?"

He wanders around the edges of the room, testing the handful of doors as the rest of the group talks. Bedrooms, check, kitchen... No check, but there seems to be some kind of automated cafeteria with a touchscreen menu. Doors out... check, as far as he's willing to investigate in the space of five minutes or so.
When he comes back, it's looking relatively thoughtful. "Well, there seems to be at least adequate food and water, and it doesn't appear that our movements have been restricted any. Would anyone feel up to a bit of exploration?"

He strides into the center of the room, looks around with a glower, and demands, "Who is in charge here?"
no subject
Well...that is true only if they both have lived through it. Altissia was a long time ago for Ignis, but the Ravus he levels a calm and even gaze at is different from the one he saw not that long ago at Noctis' coronation. The beard is gone for one, not that that is a great loss, but the truly telling thing is the tiredness on the high commander's face. A tiredness so different than that he carried after the ten years of darkness.
Is this going to be better or worse than finding Noctis so very, very young here?
"I believe Ardyn's about to lead an expedition, if you wish to join. I, for one, am not so certain I wish to be in any group he's leading."

Is this some kind of punishment for reaching out and grabbing that one last shard of hope when it presented itself to him nine months ago?
It's hard, but Mohini stamps down on that thought as soon as it crosses his mind. It's the panic talking. The fear, and he's been taught not to let those emotions rule him. It's only one of the many things he's been taught. Nine months. So much. So little. He isn't ready to be alone, but that doesn't mean he can just let go of what he's been given.
Eventually, he makes his way to the elevator, leaving the pamphlets where they've fallen. Just staying and hiding from everything isn't an option. Not if he wants to get back home. Not if he wants to show he's worth having been given those nine months.
When the elevator door opens to the lounge, Mohini finds himself overwhelmed, dark cat ears folding down nearly flat against his long, black, blue-streaked hair. So many voices. So many sounds. It's almost enough to make him want to run back into the elevator again, but he forces himself to slide out on near silent footsteps, unconsciously looking for a pair of faces his mind tells him won't be there, but that his heart still hopes to find.
(OOC: Mohini has a LOT of abuse in his background, so please swing by his opt-out post and let me know if there is anything you want me to avoid when threading! Thanks!)

It's the flicker of that long elegant tail that makes Logan perk up, looking aside and immediately he is launching himself off the floor where he'd been seated beside Aden's legs. "Momo!" That shout is all the warning he gets before Logan is barreling into him, throwing his arms around the smaller man and squeezing him tight.
"I was so worried about you." Just holding him close, swaying a little, squeezing maybe a touch too hard.

One second he was boarding the helicopter bound for Antarctica. One flash of light and the stinging cold sensation of dimensional travel later, he's being prodded by a slightly-panicked medical hologram that was chiding him about getting so bruised and abraded and lacerated and broken up and irradiated and what did he do anyway, swim around in toxic sludge?
...He didn't have time to explain himself before the injection of isotope-binding serum hit his system and he passed out again, but he's kind of used to not getting a word in.
Fast-forward about a week. On some level, he was grateful for the station's medical systems healing him up and very intrigued by the high-tech gizmos all around once they finally released him, but once he learned he was basically contracted as a gigolo lab rat, he was less than enthusiastic. This had to be some kind of cosmic joke. Literally.
... ...Did that bastard with the briefcase even HAVE a sense of humor?
Maybe better not to think about it.
Anyway, the bespectacled and bearded man finally steps out of the elevator, slapping those pamphlets he'd unceremoniously received against one of his palms. He's pale, with brown hair in a messy short cut, and of average height a respectably wiry build, judging by the jumpsuit... He tosses the pamphlets onto the nearest table and makes his way almost immediately to the food replicator. He's seen enough Star Trek to know how this goes.
"Coffee, black." It beeps shrilly.
"--No, wait. Scratch that. Bourbon on the rocks." BEEP! "Hey, don't judge me, I've had a hell of a few weeks."

An elf is hardly the strangest thing Gordon has ever seen, but it's not often you see something from Lord of the Rings step into your life. Especially an elf that could be a busty centerfold while lounging in a big chair. "Actually, is there any cream or sugar over there? I'd get up but I'm busy sulking."
